We work in environments where there are often vulnerable children, young people and adults in the vicinity. All job roles will require the successful candidate to hold an Enhanced DBS. An up to date Paediatric First Aid certificate is desirable as well. Don't worry if you don't have one, we can organise that through our preferred suppliers.

Current Vacancies and Job Roles - There Is Currently One Vacancy
Trainee Outdoor Educator - Part-Time (core school hours), term time only.
This role will suit a person with experience or wanting to work with children and young people and is willing to learn and train further appropriate to the post.
ABOUT US
ADO River Valley which is a small Special Independent School specialising in SEMH and this role will also support the school students with interventions appropriate to their EHCP if and when required.
The young person referrals may have experienced trauma and/or abuse and be LAC. Presentations include anger, anxiety, depression, self-harm, suicidal ideation, LD, neurodiverse, behavioural issues.
Core Job Duties (not limited to)
- Support curriculum
- Support students 1:1 or group work with students during term days
- Support other curriculum areas if needed, for cover purposes.
- Support YP in sessions
- After successful 6 months’ probation, option to complete L3 education and training qualification to begin supporting education sessions i.e. education or group according to curriculum/AQA/BTEC requirements (this will be completed in own time)
- Support young people with extra-curricular activities, including leading at least one club a week.
We are looking for an Outdoor Trainee Educator who meets all the following criteria:
Essential:
- The applicant must be willing to work outdoors in all weathers with the appropriate clothing and footwear.
- The applicant will be willing to support all young people in the setting in a variety of lessons and activities.
- To be calm and level headed when dealing with young people who may be in a state of dysregulation.
Desirable:
- Full driving licence with use of own car for driving between our admin office for potential admin/planning periods and offsite meetings
- To have or agree to undertake the Level 3 Teaching and learning course once probation is complete.

Supervision, Training and Development
You will be provided opportunities or will be expected to engage in CPD to maintain registration with HCPC and expected to contribute to service development.
We provide onsite managerial supervision, regular remote/virtual supervision from the team psychotherapist and long-arm clinical OT supervision.
Please note: We undertake safeguarding checks on all our workers in accordance with our policies and the DfE statutory guidance 'Keeping Children Safe in Education'. As part of these checks, we require a current Enhanced DBS Disclosure for everyone working in our therapy provision. If you do not have a valid subscription to the DBS Update Service, we will require you to complete a new online portal DBS application as part of the registration process, at a cost to the employee and maintain the subscription to the update service annually. We provide psychometric testing as part of our recruitment process.
